The project

A Resort-Style Aquatic Precinct
for the Community

Cascade Pools completed a major commercial swimming pool project for the Rochedale Lifestyle Estates development in Brisbane, working with FKP to deliver a full aquatic facility for the estate's residents.

The project involved the construction of two commercial swimming pools along with two decorative ponds for the estate's resident lifestyle facilities. The finished aquatic area included a dedicated lap pool and a large beach-entry pool, providing residents and their guests with different spaces for exercise, recreation and relaxation.

25 Metre Lap Pool

The project included a 25m × 9.4m lap pool designed as part of the estate's recreational facilities. A pool of this scale requires careful coordination between structural construction, hydraulic systems, filtration equipment and the surrounding facilities. The lap pool provides a dedicated swimming area for residents while forming part of the larger Rochedale Estate lifestyle precinct.

Large Beach Pool

Alongside the lap pool, Cascade Pools constructed a 21m × 17m beach pool. The beach pool was designed as a more recreational swimming environment, complementing the dedicated lap pool and giving residents access to different types of aquatic facilities within the same development. The combination of the two pools helped create a resort-style recreational area for the community.

The scope of the Rochedale project extended beyond the swimming pools. Cascade Pools also installed two decorative ponds within the development. These water features contributed to the overall landscape and helped integrate the aquatic facilities with the surrounding lifestyle centre.

Commercial filtration and pool equipment

For a community swimming facility, long-term operating and maintenance requirements are an important part of the project. Cascade Pools recommended commercial-grade pumps and filtration equipment appropriate for the size and expected usage of the Rochedale pools. The system was designed with ongoing maintenance and running costs in mind, rather than treating the equipment as an afterthought.
